    I'm Famous! (Well, sort of...)

Hiya there and Happy Friday!  (But no pressure, as always.)

This AM, there are several things I want to share with you all.

First - you need to go and check out Doahsdeer's site.  In honor of National Poetry Month, he is interviewing this month fellow Xangans who are poets.  Today, my interview is posted, which (of course) you should read.  Yes, Paul Partisan...another shameless plug!!!

But read the other interviews too.  They're really interesting and fun.  And who knows - you might just find a kindred spirit or two that you'd like to follow in XangaLand after reading the posts!

    Now, a few other thingees...

From a friend IRL (thanks, Tara!) who is also a talented writer/blogger/Facebook poster/fellow Twitteree, etc., I discovered a really cool writing prompt site called Flashy Fiction.  There are seven women author-writers there who each take a day of the week to post an intriguing photo, artwork, quote and/or interesting line as a writing prompt.  Because it's in blog format, writers are encouraged to write a short (flash) piece of fiction for the prompt in the comments section.  It's meant to be fun (and it is!) and I'd like to note that the feedback is always positive and encouraging - which is very good for the ego if not the soul.

As it happened, one of the Flashy Ladies had to drop out of the project due to personal reasons (Patti - you're in my thoughts!) so I just joined this merry band.  Uh huh! Thas-right!  I am the new Monday Lady, meaning my prompts will appear on Mondays - but please visit any day (like today, f'r instance!) and show your stuff.

Another fun place with a great project (also via a blog) is Poetic Asides.  Because this is National Poetry Month and National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo), Robert Lee Brewer is providing a prompt each day for Poem-A-Day (PAD.)  The prompts have been creative and have generated some truly astonishing poems from poets all over the world.  Definitely worth it!

Finally, Women Who Write, the NJ not-for-profit women's writing collective (of which I am a member) is holding there annual Spring Reading tomorrow at the Madison Library.  A number of extraordinary poets and writers (including, she added modestly, yours truly) will be doing short readings from their works.  If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by to say hello - and to be entertained by some amazin' talent!

Thanks, and have a fab weekend!
And apropos of nothing, KEEP WRITING!!!
